I am crossposting this from my backup journal on Dreamwidth! If you are a Dreamwidth kind of person, feel free to add me over there.

Basically, I imported all my old entries and comments up over here, because Livejournal's fuckery is scaring the bejeezus out of me, and the importing feature made it so easy.

I am old-enough-in-internet-years to have had the pleasure of knowing [staff profile] denise when I was a wee little teenager with ever-present slashgoggles and raging hormones and crippling personality defects, and she was kind enough not to hold any of it against me. So it's pretty neat to poke around Dreamwidth and say, hey! Look! Look at this neat thing that my internet friend made! Everything old is new again.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing with this journal; as of right now I don't have very many people in my Circle, so it hasn't quite hit 'critical mass' for me, in terms of social networking.

Plus, on a purely aesthetic note, I really like the way my journal looks, and I haven't found a beautiful layout for DW like the kind I can find on LJ. And as for the LJ site itself -- well, I still have that old vertical-nav blue-and-orange theme from ten years ago, so that should tell you how well I deal with UI change.

Anyway. It's here (or 'there', as the case may be). Do what you like with it!

Confidential to those who gave me their addresses for prints: I have word back from two people that they've made their way to the East Coast, so if you don't get yours in the next few days, let me know!

Sorry for the wait on these, guys! Postage expenses always get me in the ass, and kidney infections can go DIAF too. :D Enjoy!

So, LJ introduced Facebook-integrated 'Like' buttons on the upper navigation bars you can choose to have on your journals. How that works is that someone can come to your journal, 'like' your entry or journal, and it will come up as 'So-and-so likes such-and-such' on their own personal Facebook. While the sharing function has always existed (i.e., it's always been possible to share links to LJ posts on your Facebook), being able to 'like' something is new, as is the fact that this button makes it much more accessible to do so.

You can lessen the impact of this by disabling the upper navbar on your own journal. You can do this in the Customize section of your journal settings. It's my understanding that visitors to your journal will not see a navbar if you disable it this way, though you'll still see it on other people's journals if they have it enabled.

As before, I ask you all to refrain from sharing, and now 'liking', my journal or entries. This goes double for people who have friended me on LJ AND Facebook. There's a lot of fandom stuff on this journal, and while I quiet happily talk about my online life with folks in meatspace, there are just some conversations that you don't want to have with your family.

Navbar, I grew to like you, much like one would grow to like an unusual mole, but you've gone down a dark path.

offensive orange/yellow typography icons

So folks have said that they really like my 'cocksucker' icon! And I really like that, because nothing makes me happier than being pleasantly and intractably offensive. I decided to make a few more icons in the same style.

My darling [ profile] photoclerk was integral to figuring out the words for most of these, because I'm kind of a dunce when it comes to words and figuring out how to use them. Especially porny words. Thanks bb!

sticky: art concrit amnesty post

neomeruru: (i like it this much)
This post used to be a general request for concrit, but I've decided to take the leap and make it a permanent fixture here on my journal.

Please leave me concrit on my art in this post, anonymously if you prefer.

I want to be better, truly, and I know firsthand how useful it is when people express their not-so-positive thoughts about my art.

So! Consider this a concrit amnesty post for every single piece I've ever made and ever will. I really want your concrit, so don't be shy.

ps: draw moar naked Arthur is not concrit, guys <3

um, twitter.

At [ profile] photoclerk's insistence, I got this... twitter... fucking... thing. So, I am on the twitters, twitting about stuff, about three years after the curve. I feel a little like a grandmother learning how to use Word, okay, what the hell, I am too young to feel this old. [ profile] butterflythread has been doing a very good job at easing me into it. I was unsure at first, and it was a little painful, but apparently it gets better? Yeah, that's what I'm told. She says she'll call, but I know she only wanted me for my hashtags.

So I have the twitters, and if you have the twitters too, you can add me, or follow me, or whatever? This is going to be my fandom account, so, if you like that part of me (or are only here for that part of me!), then add away.

Twitter is setting off some latent OCD, man. It's so messy. Everyone is talking over one another and I have this need to KNOW ALL THE THINGS. Which is probably why when I discovered Inception fandom, I needed so much time to keep up with the sheer volume of content that I stopped playing Warcraft. Yeah. That's a big deal.

hitRECordJoe just posted a video of him signing all the cheques going out to the hitRECorders who worked on their SXSW production. That is amazingly cool.
