Some speculative fanart celebrating the news that JGL has officially been confirmed as cast in The Dark Knight Returns, playing John Blake, "a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon."

Obviously, I couldn't let that news go by unannounced. Blake may be an unknown right now, but that didn't stop me (or a handful of other A/E 'shippers on Twitter) to start wondering how to get Bane and John Blake onscreen (and off-screen, rrowr) together.

now with WORDS, because apparently I have a John Blake voice )

This is my very erudite thought on the matter of Tom Hardy's beautiful face.

Because I was like, hey, cool, I didn't know Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica, Dollhouse) was in a new movie! ...but it's not, it's still Tom Hardy, but he is obviously taking lessons from Tahmoh on how to make the face that says I am listening to you, but I still think you're full of shit.

There's a few scenes in Battlestar Galactica where Penikett makes that exact face, but the internet failed me and did not offer up screencaps. Shame! Take my word for it, it's exact. :D

Warrior and Hesher are #1 and #2 on the Apple Trailers website. Go go gadget fangirl! These boys will never be without a blockbuster again.

Dear lord, I had forgotten how attractive Tahmoh Penikett is.

at least it wasn't killer croc

Okay, let's maybe ignore for a minute that Christopher Nolan has chosen to reclaim fucking Catwoman from the ashes of Halle Berry's terrible performance, and I swear I thought I heard him report he wouldn't touch that character with a ten foot pole and a net, because what what here, folks.

Look at Tom Hardy.

Now look at Bane.

Now back to Tom Hardy.

Now back to Bane.

Sadly, the metaphor breaks down because T-Hard will be PLAYING Bane, actually. But he has such a pretty voice for being such a big man. He'll be all bulky and incongruous again. D:

Let's pretend that Tom Hardy or JGL stumbled upon my search history. I think I'd have a hard time explaining why their names are, like, a full quarter of my searches.

They'd be all, what the hell, are you a stalker?

And I'd be all, no way, I just need reference pictures of your faces so I can draw you in incriminating positions together.

And then I'd be all, T-Hard, can I call you T-Hard? I seriously need you to look up for a moment. Like, I need to see up your nose, but not like Bronson, just... yeah, there. Hold that.

And that would be just fucking awkward.

(I also often have daydreams that I were to, like, meet one of them while they're in Vancouver shooting something, and they'd be all like so what do you do, and the only interesting thing about me is that I draw pretty pictures, and they'd be all oh let me see your art, because that's the polite thing to do, and I seriously would not be able to do it because that would pretty much be the creepiest thing ever.)

This post brought to you by AUGH WHY DID I SIGN UP FOR ALL THE ARTS.

Tom Hardy's been tapped for a lead role in Nolan's Batman 3, but no one knows who he's playing yet!

That's kind of sad; I really hoped it would be JGL as the Riddler.

and ride a wave of fangirl dollars to the bank

i would watch that movie at least a hundred times
